Hermle is a medium-sized family business in the heart of Baden-Württemberg, picturesquely situated on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb. We are known for precise clocks and movements as well as filigree turning parts. Our short description is: regionally rooted - but globally active. Quality is in demand everywhere, so it's no wonder that our customers come from almost every country in the world.

A timelessly high standard for large clocks

Hermle DREHTEILE UND UHREN GmbH Co KG has almost a century of experience in the manufacture of large mechanical clocks (grandfather clocks, table clocks, wall clocks) and mechanical movements. In addition, we have specialized in the production of high-precision turning parts of the highest quality for around 50 years. We work for international customers from a wide range of industries, such as automotive engineering, mechanical engineering and medical technology.

Together with our customers, we look for the optimum solutions and are happy to go into detail. When manufacturing for external customers, we use our extensive experience in the production of movement parts. Conversely, when it comes to movements, we benefit from our expertise in the production of turning parts, as we can manufacture all the individual parts for the movements in our own turning shop.

We employ a total of 180 people in our three divisions: Clocks, movements and turning parts. The production site is located in Reichenbach am Heuberg. We love our home and are proud of our high level of vertical integration. At Hermle, "Made in Germany" is 100% guaranteed.

Our branch in America

The American subsidiary Hermle North America has been based in Amherst, VA, since 1977. It produces large clocks with our movements and sells them in the USA, Canada and Central America. In addition, the company has successfully included the production of furniture for hotels, restaurants, etc. in its program for several years.

HERMLE IN HISTORY

Precision right from the start

1930
After eight years, an independent watch factory had developed along the lines of a modern company.
War and post-war period
The turmoil of war brought many setbacks and had its most profound impact in the dismantling after the war. Despite all this, the Hermle watch factory recovered quickly thanks to the energy, unwavering will and prudence of Franz Hermle and his sons, and eventually experienced an even greater upswing.
1951
Construction of a further production facility in Reichenbach am Heuberg. The clock factory now specializes in the manufacture of large clocks and is a worldwide supplier of predominantly mechanical clock movements with and without striking mechanisms in all types.
1953
Franz Hermle dies and leaves a great legacy to his sons Gebhard, Alfred, Hans and Heinrich.
1968 and 1974
The 3rd generation moves in. Gerd joins Hermle first; Rolf follows six years later.
1977
The management decides to establish a subsidiary in Amherst in the US state of Virginia. It still serves the US market today.
1986 and 1989
New building Gosheim
2001
The production facility at the Reichenbach am Heuberg site is completely rebuilt.
2021
The Gosheim site will be completely relocated to Reichenbach am Heuberg, so that all production will be centrally located at one site in future.
